Celexa Side Effects

By Kenneth Shannon

There are many different side effects of Celexa that have been reported by consumers.

In many cases, the extremity of these side effects have gone down dramatically as the patient stays on the medicine and brings down their own depressive state.

You should be sure to talk to your doctor immediately if you or anyone you know starts to experience any or all of the symptoms or side effects listed below. They may need to lower your dose or put you on something else.

SSRI's are very tricky drugs and some people react differently to each one.

So the intention of this article is to go over the basic and most common of side effects that have been reported on Celexa in an attempt to better your preparation, allowing you to be of much more comfort in the initial stages.

Below I have compiled a list of the not so severe, yet most common:

Constipation

Libido lowering, lack or lower than normal sexual drive

Dizziness

Diarrhea

Profuse or abnormal sweating

Lowering of or lack of your normal appetite

Always having a feeling of being tired or weak

The list above is only intended to be a compilation of the most commonly reported symptoms and effects, and should not in any way be taken as a complete or whole list. It is important that you consult with your physician in any case of any abnormalities. However, it is not necessarily recommended to be extremely worried as the above mentioned are typically harmless.

Below however, is a list of the more severe symptoms. If you happen to come across or experience any of those, I urge you to immediately quit using Celexa and contact someone for medical attention as soon as possible.

Extreme allergic type reactions that may include symptoms similar to hives, itching, difficulty breathing, or a tight like feeling in the chest area.

Pain in chest region

Lack of or late menstual period

Feelings of restlessness

Hard Time Sleeping

Unusual mood swings, immediate change from happy to sad

Skin beginning to peel and blister

Loss of or lack of ability to concentrate for any long period of time

That list is among the most common and dangerous types of symptoms being reported at this time by consumers and patients alike. You should not ignore anything that does not feel right, do contact your doctor about any abnormalities that you may experience.
