Depression and Stuttering
Some disorders tire you emotionally while some others tire you physically and stuttering is of the former type. Not that the disability has anything to do with affecting the psychology directly, basically being a speech disorder. It is the emotional trauma caused by the teasing which is responsible for it. If the teasing and taunting occur only rarely, it will not have a big impact on the stutterers.

Depression Ups Risk Of Complications Following Heart Attack
People who suffer from severe depression following a heart attack might be more likely to experience cardiac complications while hospitalized, according to a new study. "There is good evidence that if a person has depression after a heart attack, they are more likely to die from cardiac causes in the following months and years," said lead author Jeff Huffman, M.D., assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Hunger Hormone May Protect Against Stress Induced Depression And Anxiety
By doing tests on mice fed on a calorie restricted diet, US researchers have discovered that ghrelin, a hormone that increases when people don't eat, may defend against symptoms of depression or anxiety brought on by stress. The research is the work of scientists led by senior author Dr Jeffrey Zigman, assistant professor of internal medicine and psychiatry at the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Discovery Of Mechanism For Postpartum Depression In Mice May Lead To Better Treatments
Researchers have pinpointed a mechanism in the brains of mice that could explain why some human mothers become depressed following childbirth. The discovery could lead to improved treatment for postpartum depression. Supported in part by the National Institute of Mental Health, of the National Institutes of Health, the study used genetically engineered mice lacking a protein critical for adapting to the sex hormone fluctuations of pregnancy and the postpartum period.
